DIRECT HIRE -- Electrical Test Technician position - Locations: Beaumont, Orange County, Austin, San Antonio

We are seeking a Electrical Test Technician NETA to work for our client in Beaumont. Our client is a leading EPC company serving the construction industry with high quality components.

Electrical Test Technician Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will have expertise in electrical testing, maintenance, and start-ups for high voltage substations.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Power DB is a plus
  • Valid driver s license
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and email software
  • Strong mathematical skills, including algebra and trigonometry
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical AC/DC fundamentals
  • Familiarity with major substation components
  • Knowledge of control and protection systems
  • Understanding of high-voltage electric field theory
  • Awareness of electrical codes and standards (NEC, NESC, applicable IEEE and ANSI)
  • Knowledge of civil/structural codes and standards (NESC, applicable IEEE, ANSI, AISC, ACI)
  • Familiarity with major electrical equipment functions
  • Understanding of ground grid theory and design
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of substation construction drawings and drafting standards
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Willingness to travel 50%

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct electrical testing services on power apparatus, substations, and switchgears
  • Troubleshoot and analyze problems, providing recommendations for corrective actions and repairs
  • Generate detailed technical reports outlining services performed, issues identified, and proposed solutions
  • Represent the company professionally when interfacing with clients
  • Regularly communicate with management regarding project status and resource scheduling
  • Prioritize safety, adhering to the company s Zero Tolerance policy for unsafe practices
  • Develop and maintain all drawings necessary for the construction of electrical substations
  • Oversee project-specific team activities
  • Review and mark up drawings for submission to Engineering
  • Perform calculations for the design of various civil/structural components
  • Utilize task-specific software and document management systems
  • Apply corporate standard engineering practices
  • Keep project schedules current
  • Take personal accountability for the quality and accuracy of work
  • Identify potential project issues and propose solutions to the appropriate parties

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in Electrical or Electronics Technology, or a Bachelor s in Electrical Engineering (BSEE/BSEET) or equivalent experience in the high voltage sector
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in the high voltage industry
