Description

The Senior FIPS 140 Security Engineer will design, develop, or recommend integrated security systems and physical control systems that protect proprietary/confidential data. The role involves technical engineering services for integrated security systems, participating in strategic design processes with clients, and configuring, validating, and testing secure systems to detect security weaknesses.

Responsibilities include:
  • Learning from Industry experts and working with various Commercial off the Shelf products across many technology types.
  • Building testing environments and reporting results.
  • Applying security standard requirements to products.
  • Working with cryptographic encryption algorithms, key exchange algorithms, hashing/message authentication algorithms, Public Key Infrastructure, random number generators, and more.


Requirements

Work Experience and Skills:
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in IT Security.
  • Strong knowledge of computer security principles and best practices.
  • Proficient in C, C++, Python or Java.
  • Familiar with VHDL and Verilog languages.
  • Experience with debugging (GDB, WinDBG, Visual Studio, etc.) and statistical analysis of entropy sources.
  • Knowledge of OpenSSL, OpenPGP, Active Directory and Linux.
  • Familiarity with subnets and routing, experience setting up networks.
  • Working experience with an oscilloscope, function generator, multimeter, signal generator, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (both oral and written).
  • Experience liaising with senior management and influencing others in sensitive situations.

Education: Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent.

Additional Requirements:
  • CVP Certified Tester
  • Related certifications (CCNA/CCNP/CCIE, JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP/JNCIE) are a plus.
