About the Role:

CrowdStrike Falcon is a two-component security product. One component is the "sensor", installed on endpoint client systems that observes system activity and recognizes malicious behavior, then provides on-box prevention capability and remote telemetry to the Falcon cloud. The Cloud component aggregates sensor telemetry for each customer's network and can correlate malicious behavior across multiple machines, presenting our customers' operations teams with a prioritized summary of the threats detected in their environments.

Our Sensor Platform Team is responsible for building and maintaining the core components of the sensor. Sensor features cross-cut most core OS subsystems such as file system, memory, processes, and networking. Many features are also built in a way that they will have shared components across multiple OS and hardware platforms (e.g. Windows, macOS, Linux).

As a Software Engineer for the Sustaining and Operations (SaO) team, you will be expected to have ownership, responsibilities, and projects related to ongoing sensor quality. SaO team duties include troubleshooting issues, investigating and proactively responding to incoming sensor telemetry, and championing development projects that will help to improve overall Sensor reliability and supportability. As an expert in this area, you will also be responsible for providing cross-training and best practice to our other sensor engineering teams.

What You'll Do:
  • Provide technical leadership on the Sensor Platform development team including being generally involved with the strategy and approach for supporting an maintaining enterprise quality next-generation Anti-Virus and Enhanced Detection and Response Security Software.
  • Troubleshooting complex sensor issues, investigate and proactively respond to incoming sensor telemetry, and champion development projects that will help to improve overall sensor reliability and supportability
  • Support sensor product development teams in designing and building high quality sensor software including providing cross-training and best practice
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams in various locations


What You'll Need:
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of C++ and Windows Operating System internals
  • Experience working with teams to define and execute on major projects
  • Experience working with python and test frameworks
  • Ability to lead, mentor, communicate, collaborate, partner and work effectively in a distributed team


Bonus Points:
  • Strong background in scalable, light-weight and highly performing systems
  • OS system expertise for core concepts and subsystems
  • Familiarity with other common endpoint operating systems including macOS and Linux
  • Familiarity and experience with Agile process
  • Knowledge and expertise in the Security landscape
