Position Summary

Install, maintain, and repair at the infrastructure level Computer Networking systems, Video Surveillance systems, Fire and Security systems, PA/Intercom, Master Clock, cable television systems, plus Presentation and Performance Technology systems including:
  • Projection equipment, analog/digital audio equipment, lighting, and broadcasting/recording equipment.
  • Repair as required, all peripheral and support equipment associated with these systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Perform periodic inspections and preventive maintenance required to keep these systems and associated equipment in optimum operating condition. Installation and termination of data, voice and video wiring.
  • Troubleshoot and repair at the infrastructure level, all new and existing networked systems.

Maintain and repair to component level:
  • Computers (Mac and PC), Chromebook devices, monitors and associated peripherals, and other related electronic equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and repair all electronic and telecommunications equipment and Voiceover IP (VoIP) telephone systems.

Electronic equipment may include, but is not limited to:
  • Cassette recorders, projectors, televisions, video recorders and cameras, AM/FM radios, record players, electronic learning devices, and electronic music equipment.

Special Requirements of the Position:
  • Work skillfully within a managed work order system.
  • Possess strong team, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Continue education utilizing formal training, "hands on" experience, and technical data to stay current with existing and newly emerging technologies.
  • Must be able to lift a forty- (40) pound weight overhead.
  • Able to work in confined spaces or elevated positions (scaffold, extension ladders, etc.).
  • Must be able to do repeated bending and lifting and be on your feet for extended periods of time.

8.0 hours per day, 5 days per week, 12 months per year.

Qualifications

  • Must be certified in Electronics Service Technology or the equivalent in related work/training experience.
  • An associate degree in Electronics Technology is preferred.
  • Have two or more years of "hands-on" experience in the installation and maintenance of electronic systems and equipment.
  • Possess an A+ Certification (or be in the process of obtaining it).
  • This position has extensive personal contact with administrative and district staff, which requires interpersonal communication skills.
