The Team:
The role will be part of the Index Management and Production Group (IMPG) at S&P Global. The team is responsible for the production and management of a wide range of indices covering global options, equities, futures, fixed income, commodity, digital assets and economics indices. This role will focus on providing comprehensive insights and solution in the fixed income markets with particular attention to the municipal bond and leveraged loan indices.
The Impact: As a Senior Fixed Income Index Manager you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of our fixed income indices. Your expertise in the municipal bond and leveraged loan markets will be essential in researching corporate actions, new issuances, and implementing index changes. You will collaborate with internal teams to design and implement methodologies for municipal bond and leveraged loan indices, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of fixed income index data, and monitor market trends and performance.

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $97,497 to $195,800. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

Responsibilities:
- Understand and communicate highly complexed index methodologies to stakeholders.
- Review and interpret corporate action events including refunding, refinancing, restructuring, bankruptcy workout, call, put, sinking fund etc.
- Review and analyse advance bond risk concepts of duration, option adjusted spread, convexity etc.
- Provide detailed analysis of recommended index changes to the relevant index committee.
- Ability to serve on various index committees, providing necessary governance to SPDJI indices
- Collaborate with stakeholders to thoroughly assess potential methodology changes, manage the process of governance review, and work through to seamless implementation of the index changes.
- Participate in the development and launch of new indices, including methodology application, operational feasibility and system capabilities.
- Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and other factors affecting the municipal bond and leverage loan markets.

What We're Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with focus in business, mathematics, IT, economics, finance or related field
- Minimum 5 years of professional working experience in fixed income.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced experience in excel.
- Strong understanding and expertise in the fixed income market including municipal bonds and leveraged loans.
- Deep understanding of complex financial/indexing concepts
- Must be able to demonstrate excellent analytical and quantitative capabilities to solve original, non-routine problems in a timely and insightful manner
- Must be able to work independently on multiple projects with a strong sense of initiative.
- Must be able to demonstrate excellent analytical and quantitative capabilities on large data sets to solve problems in a timely and insightful manner.
- Ability to learn S&P DJI's proprietary index calculation platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- CFA or progress toward CFA and/or CIPM certification
- Experience with Python and VBA for process automation and calculation models
