The mission of the Microsoft AI Web Data team is to employ Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning to understand all the data on the web; the largest store of information in human history. With this understanding we power end-user experiences across a variety of areas, including Search and Recommendation systems.

As a team, we play a central role in discovery, crawling, selection, document processing & aggregation of web graph. Work in our team is unique in that you'll be able to work with trillions of documents, which pushes the boundaries of our infrastructure and computational resources. Moreover, it provides interesting challenges that haven't been encountered before, thereby combining research and product applications.

We are looking for the best and brightest to join our team and help us apply the next generation of LLM, NLP, deep learning, large scale distributed systems and informational retrieval techniques.

As a Principal Product Manager, AI Platform, you will be partner facing and responsible for partner success through delivery management of cross-functional programs, and manage internal stakeholder relationships across feature and product teams. The candidate will focus on defining KPIs for success, doing deep data analysis, writing product specifications and delivering complex large projects.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Big Data, Machine/Deep Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing or Data Mining.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Outstanding analytical skills.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new technology and go deep in new focus areas.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with a large number of partners and customers and translate requirements into a product vision and roadmap.
  • 3+ years of experience with A/B testing, experimentation and data analysis.
  • Search industry experience is preferred.
  • Attention to detail, planning, organization, and project management skills.
  • The ability to problem solving and conflict-resolution skills across a set of technical, product, and business challenges.
  • Experience working in a rapidly-scaling environment with multiple variables in play.


Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Define & improve Web Data quality for Microsoft AI products - Bing, Copilot, MSN, Ads.
  • Research, design and establish metrics for success and measurement methodologies.
  • Create strategies for collecting training data for next generation document understanding models that are multi-modal.
  • Establish methodologies for Deep Learning and AI infrastructure and platform support than engineers can use.
  • Build and develop relationships with internal and external partners to ensure improvements benefit end user scenarios.
  • Perform user studies, propose experiments and write specifications for features that need to be productized.
  • Drive projects to completion in a timely manner.
  • Prioritize requirements and do multi release planning.
  • Continuous research and education around AI trends and new AI product developments as these evolve
  • Manage Product launch roadmaps by partnering with stakeholders to create technical content.
