  • Job Summary: The Data Architect will work closely with the development team and other stakeholders, focusing on the database layer of our applications. This role requires a deep understanding of security-focused database solutions, as well as strong technical and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop database solutions for secure portal applications, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with remote and on-site teams to define, develop, and implement customer-driven solutions.
  • Perform testing, debugging, and installation of database systems to ensure operating efficiency.
  • Conduct assessments of defects, new enhancements, and initiatives.
  • Provide operational support and incident/change management, including defect remediation and enhancements.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for system development and revisions.
  • Ensure seamless integration with infrastructure, network, and database components.
  • Support the configuration, patching, and maintenance of secure database systems.
  • Apply best practices in quality standards, fostering a culture of enhanced security solutions.

Requirements

  • Government of Canada Secret Level clearance is required
  • Proficiency with Oracle 11g and 19c databases.
  • Hands-on experience with PL/SQL and ANSI SQL.
  • Experience with database tools like Toad.
  • Familiarity with DevOps/CICD pipelines and tools such as JIRA, Github, Jenkins, and UCD.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban).
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with frequent changes in priorities.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities with complex, technical, and abstract concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment (3 days on-site, 2 days remote).
  • Strong team player with the confidence to escalate issues when necessary.

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous experience in the telecommunications industry.
  • Experience working on Government of Canada contracts.

Benefits

  • Working hours are Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
  • Location: Ottawa - Hybrid with 3 days on-site and 2 days remote
  • Type of job: Temporary Contractor
  • Hourly contract rate: TBD depending on experience
  • Date candidate required: Immediate
  • Length of Contract: 12 months with the possibility of extension
