POSITION TITLE: Operations Engineer

DEPARTMENT: Engineering & Construction

REPORTS TO: Director of Engineering

GENERAL SUMMARY

Responsible for providing technical support to SCM s Gas, Crude and Water Operations for assets which include processing plants, compressor stations, pump stations, crude terminals, treating facilities, measurement facilities, SWD s and gathering systems. Key areas of support include, but are not limited to, design & throughput optimization, performance monitoring, regulatory compliance, operational procedures, equipment failure & incident evaluations, commissioning support, and MOC facilitation.

GOALS / OBJECTIVES

? Maximize system and facility throughput to achieve SCM and customer production goals

? Optimize OPEX cost efficiency through continual improvement to SCM s asset performance and operational processes

? Ensure in-service assets are in compliance with all Regulatory, Environmental, Health & Safety, and SCM s ESG requirements

? Ensure SCM s current assets are in compliance with the applicable industry codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following is representative of the responsibilities that may be required of an Operations Engineer. SCM supports the use of 3rd party consultants to facilitate the successful performance of these tasks as needed or required to supplement the Operations Engineer s individual contribution.

Routine field visits to SCM assets in West Texas to assist field operations in identifying, evaluating, and troubleshooting operational issues as required.

Collaborate with field operations to identify and implement process and procedural improvement opportunities, as well as preventative maintenance plans.

Evaluate and mitigate equipment and control system failures.

Evaluate key gas processing systems (e.g. TEG, Amine, stabilization, compression) and crude assets (LACTs) to troubleshoot reliability and runtime issues or implement performance improvement initiatives.

Review and evaluate control system and gas/crude quality measurement device suitability and performance.

With Operations, identify, evaluate, and implement OPEX reduction & optimize plant product recoveries.

Develop and maintain operations runtime, FL&U, compression hp efficiency, % utilization, and other operations KPI s and metrics as required.

Directly manage small projects as required; Define scope, preliminary budget and schedule for evaluation on large projects for handover to Project Execution Team.

Provide operations engineering representation in pertinent company meetings.

Facilitate MOCs, risk assessments, HAZOPs/HAZIDs, and PHAs for modifications to existing assets

Assist with PHMSA and PSM audits as required.

Participate in Capital Project model reviews, constructability reviews, risk assessments, HAZOPs/HAZIDs, PHA s, and development plan reviews as required

Provide feedback on Operations lessons learned and operational improvement to the Capital Projects team for implementation into design standards and specifications

Provide commissioning and startup support for Capital Projects if required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

B.S. in Chemical, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering

Minimum 8 years of experience in the oil & gas industry with specific experience in Midstream gas gathering and processing

Up to 25% travel to West Texas

Previous direct employment with E&P or Midstream companies preferred

Proficient in working with P&IDs, PFDs, alignment sheets, equipment specification sheets, and other documents pertinent to operations of midstream systems.

Ability to establish, maintain positive working relationships with external and internal stakeholders

Strong organizational, decision-making, time management, and written/verbal communication skills

Motivated self-starter with the ability to work without daily oversight

Knowledge of industry codes and standards related to Midstream asset design
