Join our dynamic Platform team as a Cloud DevOps Engineer, where your enthusiasm for crafting innovative cloud solutions will play a crucial role in the development and support of our datacenter inventory management (DCIM) solution. This remote opportunity invites talented individuals to contribute to our automation ecosystem, enhancing our operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and enhance our production Nautobot instance, which operates on Kubernetes within AWS, while developing extensions to optimize internal business processes.
  • Architect and design automation workflows that are initiated from Nautobot using Ansible and AWX, aimed at improving our data center operations.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Admin and Portal teams to introduce automation as a core component for our end users.

Required Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Python and Django.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and AWS cloud infrastructure management.
  • Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible + AWX and Terraform.
  • Knowledge of open-source observability tools, including Loki, Grafana, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry.
  • Understanding of GraphQL, OpenAPI (Swagger), and Docker.
  • Proficient with SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, etc.) and various Linux distributions (Ubuntu, Fedora, CentOS, CoreOS).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.) and Agile development platforms (VSTS, Jira, GitLab).
  • Familiarity with code and image repositories (Git, GitHub, DockerHub, ECR).
  • Proficient in automated testing tools (Pytest, etc.) and shell scripting (Bash, Python).
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, including DNS, TCP/IP, NAT, PAT, routing, load balancing, and packet inspection tools (Wireshark, etc.).

Qualifications

  • A BA or BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience, with at least three to five years in the specified technical skills.
  • Proven experience supporting a production Django web application backed by a relational database utilizing Kubernetes (EKS preferred).
  • A background in developing and managing observability platforms to monitor production applications and resolve performance issues is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in network or data center automation is beneficial.

Salary Range

For candidates in California, Colorado, and Illinois, the compensation range for this position is between \(120,000 and \)150,000.
