Newtility is seeking a hard-working, independent Renewable Energy Technician to join our fast-paced team. This position will be based out of our Brunswick, Maine office, however, location can be negotiable for the right candidate.
In a few words, this technician will support the design of renewable energy and power generation projects, particularly PV/solar, battery storage, and microgrids. Design, control panel fabrication, and field work will be big parts of the job.
At minimum, assigned tasks will include:
• Drafting & Project Design: assist in the development of electrical schematics, general arrangements/plan views, equipment layouts, and real-world installation details, primarily in AutoCAD.
• Automation & Control System Design: assist in the development of control logic, drawings, documentation, and software for a wide variety of controllers, PLCs, RTUs, protective relays, instrumentation, and intelligent devices.
• HMI & SCADA System Design: assist in the development of operator interface screens, animations, logic, and datalogging/database design for wide variety of HMI, SCADA and OIT platforms.
• Shop Support: assist in control panel fabrication, repairs, procurement, and inventory management.
• Field Support: assist in on-site startup, testing, and troubleshooting for new and operating projects.
This person must work well with others, be a confident communicator, and interface well with customers, vendors, other engineering firms, and contractors. Prioritizing and resolving conflicts in a professional manner, both on and off the job site, will be part of the job. This person will need to be self-sufficient, organized, and have the confidence to deliver results.

The majority of projects are in industrial and utility environments, and some field work will be required. Some experience with construction and OSHA safety requirements is beneficial.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of direct hands-on experience related to any or all of the defined tasks
- Experience in various trades (electrical, mechanical, welding, fabrication, etc.) is beneficial.
- Field work and some travel is required to various customer sites.
- Pay will be in line with experience: we are looking for good people with a genuine love for this work.
