Responsibilities:
Promote and provide a safe workplace, seek improvements, support Health & Safety Program.
Lead a motivated, efficient and engaged electrical maintenance team and provide career development opportunities.
Coach and mentor employees to ensure maximum performance.
Support compliance with collective agreement and sound union/management/employee relations.
Report to Maintenance Manager.
Ensure optimal use of site resources.
Ensure employees are trained to meet the technological requirements of Variable Speed Drives, Programmable Logic Controllers, and Distributed Control Systems within the Paper Mill, Pulp Mills and Finishing Room, TMP and Chip Unloading areas.
Plan, coordinate, and implement all maintenance weekday and shutdown maintenance activities in area of accountability.
Develop and maintain KPI s for production area.
Carry out established PPM (predictive and preventative maintenance) programs and recommend or initiate changes as required to improve E/I uptime performance.
Foster a participative style of management and promote the Results Management Framework within the unionized workforce.
Accountable, within a framework, for the development and implementation of the Newsmill 5-year operating plan utilizing the CPA and RPA process as vehicles to accomplish requirements.
Requirements:
Education: Electrical or Instrumentation Technologist Diploma /Electrical Degree (Preference given to candidates possessing a red seal trades certificate.)
Experience: 10+ Years in both Electrical and Instrumentation
