What You Will Be Doing:

Under limited supervision, the BI Business Analyst, Specialist is responsible for SQL, data analysis, and requirements gathering, along with strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts. This role will collaborate effectively with peers and stakeholders to drive data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document detailed requirements for BI projects and reports.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance SQL queries, stored procedures, and views to extract and analyze data from various systems.
  • Ensure data integrity and quality through rigorous data validation and testing.
  • Design and implement data models, reports, and dashboards in alignment with business needs and industry best practices.
  • Assist in building and maintaining data warehouses, including ETL processes and data pipelines.
  • Provide insights and recommendations through data analysis to support business decisions.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Support peers and junior team members by providing guidance, training, and mentorship.
  • Ensure adherence to data governance policies and compliance requirements, particularly in a healthcare environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to BI tools, data integration, and reporting systems.

Required

  • Basic knowledge of: SQL and data analysis.
  • Basic knowledge of health care data.
  • Basic knowledge of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and ETL processes.
  • Basic knowledge of BI tools (Power BI, Tableau and similar platforms).
  • Basic knowledge of cloud-based data platforms.
  • Ability to read, design and implement reports.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Ensures adherence to data governance polices within the healthcare environment.

  • Working with cloud-based data platforms.
  • Agile project management methodologies.

What You Have:

Education and Experience

Required

  • Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, or related BI roles.
  • Proficient in SQL, with the ability to write complex queries for data extraction and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and ETL processes.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data, including claims, membership, and provider data, is a plus.
  • Proven experience in gathering and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and mentor peers.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in healthcare is preferred.

Preferred

  • Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Knowledge of advanced data analysis techniques, including predictive modeling and machine learning.
  • Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies.
