The Solar Electrical Superintendent will be responsible for providing comprehensive coordination, planning, and supervision of electrical activities for utility-scale solar projects. Working closely with forepersons, contractors, and cross-functional teams, this role ensures that all electrical installations are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project requirements. This position also plays a critical role in client engagement, maintaining superior service standards, and fostering strong customer relationships across multi-state projects. Frequent travel is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee electrical craft activities, including determining construction methods, manpower levels, material requirements, equipment, temporary power sources, and work schedules.
- Manage labor budgets, monitor actual hours worked, and document progress for project reporting.
- Coordinate electrical work with other crafts, company departments, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Maintain liaison with engineering, estimating, and planning teams to ensure that all work aligns with project drawings, specifications, and timelines.
- Identify and address construction challenges such as productivity issues or work interface conflicts.
- Monitor craft compliance with the project's safety program, documenting corrective measures as needed to ensure a safe work environment.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, Engineering) to ensure that materials, equipment, and inspections are in place to support project schedules.
- Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring responsible completion and accountability.
- Maintain professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, and on-site personnel to ensure a collaborative working environment.
- Perform additional duties as directed by the supervisor to support overall project goals.
- Strong commitment to safety, including a minimum of OSHA30 certification.
- Experience in electrical field installations within solar plants or heavy industrial environments.
- Preferably, three or more years of supervisory experience in a power plant or heavy industrial construction setting.
- Demonstrated experience in managing crews of 50+ employees, with strong planning and scheduling capabilities.
- Expertise in reading and interpreting electrical design drawings (isometric and orthographic), specifications, and contract documents, as well as coordinating with subcontractors.
- Background in workforce planning and reporting, including man-hour and job-cost reports.
- Prior experience as a General Foreman (4-5 years) or Superintendent (3 years) on industrial construction projects.
- Openness to learning new techniques and acquiring additional skills as required by the project.

- Preferred experience on Solar Projects 75MW - 500MW+.
- ASAP - ideally a maximum of 1 months notice.
- Scheduling and budgeting experience is a preference.
