LS Technologies, a Tetra Tech Company, is seeking a part-time (50%) Air Traffic Control (ATC) Specialist with ATC expertise to support the test and evaluation of a new function for the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) terminal automation platform, Terminal Precipitation on the Glass (TPoG). The TPoG application processes National Weather Processor (NWP) and Common Support Services for Weather (CSS-WX) precipitation output derived from multiple dedicated weather sensors and displays the information on the Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS) display.
Responsibilities
- Serves as an expert contributor in particular ATC automation and processes responsible for expectations on operational requirements.
- Acts independently or as a member of a project team responsible for providing guidance concerning the ATC implications of the application of various systems.
- Provides analysis of TPoG scenarios and development. Supports the development of adaptation on the STARS system for a reliable representation on the controller display.
- Develops test procedures to ensure verification/validation of requirements. Ensures the quality of test procedures by conducting Dry Runs.
- Conducts formal test and reports on outcomes.
Education
- No college degree required.
Qualifications
- Must have 10-15 years' relevant experience in ATC.
- Must have active full performance level (FPL ATC experience in any of the following: Terminal, Enroute, Oceanic, Traffic Flow Management, or Flight Service Station). Terminal experience is preferred.
- Equivalent experience in the US Military or international control environment is acceptable.

- Work location: WJHTC, Atlantic City, NJ (Hybrid (On-site/Remote) by customer needs)
- Work Hours: 20 Hours per week

- Physical requirements:
- Extended Computer Use: Regular and prolonged periods of working at a computer terminal and a computer laboratory.
- Mobility: Ability to move around the office environment to access computer hardware, networking equipment, and server rooms.
- Dexterity: Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate computer equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform tasks requiring precision.
- Sitting/Standing: Both prolonged sitting and occasional standing may be required for troubleshooting and attending to system issues.
- Background check: Must have ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.

Compensation (Pay Bands)
Salary at LST is determined by a wide array of factors, such as (but not limited to) education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. Part-time staff receive compensation at an hourly rate.
