Utilities and Water Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Corporate Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our Utilities and Water Treatment Operations in North America. This critical role involves leading and enhancing water treatment and utility efficiency across our network of chemical plants through innovative monitoring and optimization strategies. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a real-time monitoring and optimization strategy for water treatment systems across ten chemical plant sites.
  • Drive process enhancements by identifying optimization opportunities and collaborating with water treatment vendors to ensure optimal water chemistry.
  • Engage closely with on-site plant personnel to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and refine water treatment practices.
  • Develop advanced monitoring algorithms and conduct rigorous engineering and chemistry analyses to troubleshoot system problems.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and root cause analyses to mitigate repeat failures and ensure adherence to design specifications.
  • Manage and interpret data, leveraging the latest technologies to continuously advance our water treatment processes.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field, complemented by at least 10 years of experience in water treatment within large chemical plant operations.
  • Deep understanding of water chemistry, including knowledge of corrosion, scale formation, and metallurgy.
  • Proven ability in implementing root cause failure analysis and a solid grasp of safety, reliability, and efficiency in large industrial settings.
