Required:
Seeking an experienced Red Hat OpenShift Engineer to join our Engineering team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting our Red Hat OpenShift container platform environment.
This role requires deep knowledge of containerization technologies, Kubernetes, and the ability to develop and maintain scalable and secure cloud-native applications.
In this role, you will:
Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups
Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions
Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
Required Qualifications:
5 years of experience with Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes in a production environment.
5 years of experience with RHEL Linux Administration
5 years of experience with Ansible or similar automation software
Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).
Experience with API gateways such as Apigee or Kong for managing and securing APIs.
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Cribl, Grafana, ELK.
Knowledge of Service Mesh technologies such as Istio, Linkerd, Consul for microservices and observability
Experience with GitOps principles and tools such as Flux and ArgoCD for managing infrastructure and application deployments.
Proficeiny with Helm and Go for operator deployment and management.
Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Bash, Python).
Knowledge of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, SSH).
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Desired Qualifications:
Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration certification.
Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
Familiarity with cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure).
Understanding of security best practices for containerized applications.
Job Expectations:
Design, deploy, and manage Red Hat OpenShift clusters, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes using OpenShift.
Work closely with development teams to containerize and deploy applications to the OpenShift platform.
Monitor and manage platform performance, capacity, and security, implementing best practices to ensure system reliability.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the OpenShift environment, including network problems, container runtime issues, and service outages.
Collaborate with IT security teams to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures, including vulnerability management and access controls.
Working knowledge on OpenShift/Kubernetes and Container Orchestration.
Stay updated on new OpenShift features and Kubernetes ecosystem developments, recommending and implementing improvements to our platform.
