JOB DESCRIPTION
Seeking an experienced, hands-on Project Manager (PM) who demonstrates knowledge and experience with project management methodologies with an emphasis on large COTS implementations. The PM will possess superb communication and interpersonal skills needed to collaborate with vendors, development teams, and executive stakeholders for project updates. This person will manage the overall coordination of projects that involve the development of IT applications and various initiatives that support the IT Infrastructure, from planning through implementation. Responsibilities include setting project scope, priorities, deadlines, and deliverable schedules as well as facilitating discussions and Scrum ceremonies with the project team. The person will manage project risks, and issues, and ensure consensus among various project stakeholders, such as analysts, applications developers, and business customers. Management and monitoring of project budgets and expenditures is required.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the overall planning, execution, and completion of assigned projects within time and budget constraints.
- Work with business analysts, IT managers, and stakeholders to assess primary project objectives, benefits, and involvement of internal and external stakeholders for new initiatives assigned.
- Coordinate and lead planning sessions and timeline reviews for project development and execution.
- Create a project charter to define project objectives and scope to serve as a compass for project direction.
- Create detailed schedules, project parameters, milestone plans, and budget expectations
- Ensure project tasks are accounted for in project DevOps system backlogs and Sprint plans.
- Facilitate and lead daily Scrum calls, routine Sprint, and Capacity planning sessions, and ensure standard project ceremonies
- Work with IT/resource managers to identify and assign project activities in accordance with team members' strengths and experience.
- Conduct risk and issue analysis to reduce unforeseen obstacles and costs; document, address, and escalate to management.
- Conduct periodic scope, schedule, and cost reviews to identify needed adjustments.
- Provide accurate weekly status and project updates, liaising with executives and other departments Provide summarized project plan documentation to PMO, IT Leadership, ELT Sponsors, and other stakeholders as needed
- Measure project performance and progress throughout the project; suggest corrective actions to keep the project on target.
- Maintain accurate project information, schedule, and activity assignments in the client's project management system.
- Manage and document project changes, risks, and issues that impact the project scope, schedule, or budget.
- Provide direction and support to team members to deliver results on schedule and within budget limits.
- Drive decision-making as it relates to project activities.
- Implement and facilitate change management within assigned projects.
- Ensure any established SLAs and minimum KPIs set by the PMO for assigned projects are met.
- Adhere and comply with the IT standard processes and procedures.
EDUCATION & TRAINING:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field required.
- 8+ years overall IT experience with extensive hands-on experience in project management.
- Project management certificate a plus.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
- Experience and thorough understanding of project/program management governance, techniques, methods and frameworks (Scrum, waterfall, and hybrid.)
- Experience using PPM tools and DevOps tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps is required.
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, service-oriented, and responsible.
- Must have high-level management and leadership skills.
- A background in applications development is preferred and five or more years of experience managing complex projects.
- Experience in cross-departmental coordination and team building is a must
- Financial tracking and reporting of project expenses.
- Experience managing projects with a variety of technologies, platforms, and development languages.
- Experience using change management protocols to develop and implement best practices.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Ability to manage and deliver multiple projects (including governance, BI, and infrastructure), activities, and tasks under time constraints.
- Ability to communicate project scope, status, and issues with corporate executives and stakeholders.
- The ability to effectively convey and understand information through both spoken and written means, ensuring clear and comprehensive communication.
- The ability to use logic to examine and measure a problem.
- Managing one s time productively and efficiently. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
