We're seeking a motivated, people-oriented Sr Business Intelligence Analyst to support Action Lab. Action Lab is a learning laboratory inside EdPlus that creates functional data flows and scholarly research reports to support operational strategy across ASU and bolster EdPlus goals. Under the general guidance of Action Lab Leadership, the Sr Business Intelligence Analyst will support EdPlus overall data needs.
This is a hybrid role. The incumbent of this position will be required to work from our office located in Scottsdale, Arizona at least three days per week.
Essential Duties:
Bachelor's degree in a business, information technology, or closely related field and four (4) years of experience in data modeling or database design using SQL or similar language, BI tool use and administration as well as user training/documentation development experience, OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Working Environment
EdPlus at ASU is located at SkySong, the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center. The center houses a diverse business community that links technology, research, education, and entrepreneurship to position ASU and Greater Phoenix as global leaders in the knowledge economy.
Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting or standing. Daily use of desktop or laptop computer is required. Ability to clearly communicate verbally in English, read, write, see, and hear to perform essential duties. Regular review of completed tasks.
EdPlus at ASU supports flexible work options, ranging from alternate work schedules to hybrid remote work schedules, subject to approvals per ASU policy. (This is not a fully remote position.)

Minimum Qualifications

We're seeking a motivated, people-oriented Sr Business Intelligence Analyst to support Action Lab. Under the general guidance of Action Lab Leadership, the Sr Business Intelligence Analyst will support EdPlus overall data needs.

Essential Duties:
- Manages projects for a core functional area by preparing and maintaining implementation plans, managing project issues, and ensuring project tasks are completed.
- Receives report requests, evaluates requirements, and recommends existing or new solutions.
- Creates reports and data products.
- Assists customers and colleagues with information needs through understanding of data and metadata content.
- Identifies and assesses potential data sources needed.
- Elicits requirements using interviews, requirements meetings, surveys, document analysis, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis.
- Assists with prototype creation and coordinates prototype reviews.
- Works with developers/architects to translate requirements into a technical solution.
- Assists with creating and delivering end-user training and documentation.
- Works closely and cooperatively with development teams on product design; makes recommendations for change to enhance support and usability.
- Validates that any data solution meets requirements and service-level agreements.
- Participates in system administration functions including data validation processes, duplicate resolution processes, system change requests, and system integration/user acceptance testing to ensure ongoing integrity and security of data consistent with university policies and procedures.
- Assumes or coordinates other duties or projects as assigned or directed.
