Radiance Technologies, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking candidates for a Survivability Engineer to support a U.S. Space Force program. This position requires a talented and experienced engineer to lead and derive radiation environment models and characteristics, apply models toward defining and refining system and subsystem requirements, and develop mission risk profiles and CONOPS for space-hardened hardware components. The Survivability Engineer will support test execution and information exchanges within a larger, multidisciplined team to perform the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process, including analysis/feasibility, planning/requirements, design, system development, testing, deployment, maintenance, evaluation, and disposition/disposal. As the Senior Survivability Engineer, you will represent the radiation effects discipline for the program and as a subject matter expert within Radiance.

Responsibilities
- Lead and derive radiation environments using CREME96, OMERE, SPENVIS or similar tools.
- Generate and evaluate radiation requirements for Total Ionizing Dose, Single Event Effects availability, and related areas.
- Lead efforts toward evaluation of payload hardware/components with test setup designs, parallel test coordination, and analysis tool development.
- Predict mission success with ray trace analyses and apply an interdisciplinary approach to reducing radiation risks.
- Proactively communicate with internal and external customers through all program execution stages.
- Identify, manage, and communicate program and project risks.
Required Experience/Skills
- Bachelor s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other relevant technical discipline.
- 12+ years experience performing and leading survivability engineering activities.
- Test and/or analysis experience with radiation effects in microelectronics.
- Proficiency with Python, MATLAB, LabView or similar systems for data analysis and/or test automation.
- Experience with CREME96, OMERE, and/or SPENVIS.
- Experience with space systems material handling requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Active SECRET clearance.

- Master s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other relevant technical discipline.
- Experience with radiation transport tools.
- Experience with Government or commercial spaceflight projects.
- Experience with aerospace system lifecycle design for launch, mission operations, and end-of-mission disposal.
- Support program execution by developing standardized schedules, cost estimates, and resources projections.
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
