We are looking for a Product Development Manager - Food & Supplement to discover, develop, launch, and maintain products that are valuable, usable, and meet the company nutritional parameters, cost structure and minimum order quantities (MOQ). This position responds to company initiatives by aiding in new food, dietary supplement and non-food product development and quality assurance areas (SQF, product testing, RFI new vendors, retained samples, tracking any product complaints) to meet company, patient, and customer needs, and to enhance company revenues through all distribution channels.

      Job Responsibilities:

      • Manages the entire life cycle of Medi-Weightloss Signature Supplement and Products from strategic planning to tactical activities (sourcing, introduction, growth, maturity and ending stage)
      • Vendor management: employs sourcing strategies using existing and new vendors, private label shows to develop relationships with new product vendors.
      • Discovers and presents new product ideas by focusing on product line extensions, brand research reports, customer and franchise staff ideas, vendor generated ideas, internal department discussion (Medical Affairs, Marketing & Operations) and new product categories.
      • Leads frequent (Biweekly/Monthly) vendor calls to discuss existing Purchase Order status, New Product initiatives, Artwork updates, Sensory Panel Results and Key Priorities. Create Agenda and Call Notes and work closely with Operations/Finance on Open Order Reports (OOR) for tracking current purchase order status.
      • Works with contract manufacturing partners to ensure that all products maintain prominent levels of quality control, food safety, and proper labeling standards.
      • Implements all related quality assurance processes as outlined in the SOP Manual including retained samples, testing, third party certification, nutritional specifications, certificate of analysis (COA) and other tracking requirements to ensure quality standards are met.
      • Utilizes and improves existing tools such as Retained Sample Archive (Teams), Airtable, Dossier System (Product & Vendor Files) and Retained Sample Inventory and storage
      • Works with Graphic Design to manage artwork and label development timelines for new and existing products.
      • Responsible for circulation of all new and existing artwork for internal executive approval
      • Leads internal sensory evaluation and taste testing for all potential new products.
      • Leads internal quality assurance protocols such as retain sample housing and product quarantine & release programs.
      • Houses, updates, and maintains all product and vendor dossiers and records (COAs, certifications, etc.)
      • Maintains timelines and product development pipeline for all current and future product launches.
      • Coordinates between internal stakeholders during product pre-launch processes (Marketing, IT, Finance, Operations)
      • Works with Operations/Finance to develop timelines for reordering products requiring labeling and ingredient changes.

        Requirements

        • Bachelor s degree
        • Minimum of three (3) year's experience with project management
        • Previous experience with Product Development, CGMP guidelines, USDA, FDA, and other food and dietary supplements regulations.
        • Ability to multi-task, manage time, apply critical thinking skills, and provide the highest level of customer service both internally and externally is a must.
        • Ability to engage in a wide variety of business discussions and quickly learn new and/or complex concepts.
        • Requires availability to travel to customer and non-customer sites in North America(up to 25%)
        • Lift and carry 25+ pounds and sit for extended period.
        • Must live in the Tampa Bay area.
