POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Director of Community Impact will work directly with the VP of Community Research and Impact, with the CRI team, with LISC staff across the country, and with our external partners to design and implement effective programs that advance racial, economic, and gender justice, and which contribute to policy and systems change. The Director will also contribute to fundraising that supports LISC and our partners around potentially transformative and innovative projects and policies, and support local office and national program staff on the program design and implementation needs they bring to us. The successful candidate will have strong program design and program management skills; bring a depth of expertise in a topical area, such as housing, economic development, or arts- and culture-led community development; be conversant with nonprofit management and governance; and be passionate about maximizing sustained social impact that advances diversity, equity, inclusion and justice.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will play a major role in supporting innovative and transformative programs and policies:

  • Design and effectively manage new programmatic initiatives in collaboration with local offices, national programs and our partners
  • Manage internal training initiatives that build LISC’s staff capacity around program design and implementation, and respond to their requests to support program design, fundraising, and program management.
  • Create and advance new service models, programs and products that address root causes and deliver breakthrough outcomes, and bring these to LISC’s external partners.
  • Create, advance and manage external partnerships, thought partnerships and coalitions, to advance systems-change goals.
  • Support LISC’s fundraising, by identifying and cultivating key corporate, foundation and other donors who share an interest in systems change and programmatic innovation.
  • Perform additional duties, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public or urban policy, nonprofit management, business, or related fields OR relevant related work experience. Master’s-level degree is preferred,
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience in community and economic development or a related field.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership experience.
  • Experience in advancing systems change and various kinds of programmatic support.
  • Experience leading technical assistance, group learning, training, and convenings.
  • Strong corporate, foundation, donor development, fundraising experience.
  • Experience in writing and delivering curriculum using adult learning principles as well as developing and producing topical seminars/webinars.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings with diverse stakeholders and present verbal and written reports effectively.
  • Work well both as a member of a team and independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effectively manage and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment, delegate work efficiently, and work collaboratively across the organization.

COMPENSATION:

LISC offers a competitive salary ($92,400 - $115,500; salary commensurate with experience and location)* and excellent fringe benefits.
