The Academics team at StraighterLine has an immediate opening for a 1099 SME and faculty grader to help us provide our online learners with caring and constructive feedback on assignments in our REL101: Introduction to Religion course. Additionally, you would have the opportunity to serve as a SME for this course, helping us to revise and (re)develop rigorous (in the right way!) college-level content and engaging and equitable online learning experiences.

Requirements For Eligibility
- Master’s degree or higher in the course discipline
- Teaching experience in the course discipline
- Experience in curriculum design & development for college-level courses
- Patience with deadline-driven projects that may warrant fast turnaround and iterative development
- Ability to work effectively both collaboratively and independently, throughout all phases of a project
- Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented mindset, and ability to scaffold project work within multiple (and sometimes competing) deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to disseminate course-related information to a wide range of professional audiences (academic and non-academic) and across multiple departments
- Familiarity with the Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets)
- Familiarity with online learning theories, andragogy/pedagogy, Gagne’s Nine Events of Instruction, and promising practices related to building engaging and interactive asynchronous learning experiences
- Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) like Moodle
- Flexibility to pivot, if/when a project changes according to design iterations
- Evidence-based instructional design (ID) skills
- College-level and online teaching experience
- Educational Requirements: Master’s degree or higher in the discipline.
- Work Environment: Mostly asynchronous & independent work, with a few daytime planning meetings and email communications required
- Pay: This role is paid per submission, with $8.50 earned per graded assignment. Any SME work would be paid at $35.00 an hour
- Future State: In addition to serving as the primary grader for this course, the faculty member hired for this position will have the option to serve as the SME for future content development and course revisions.
