Job Title: Applications Developer
Location: 100 Hancock Street, Quincy, Massachusetts 02171
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM EST
Employment Type: Hybrid (In-Office & Remote)
Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Job Overview:
Applications Developer will support the design, development, and implementation of complex, multi-system applications. Responsibilities include coding, debugging, testing, and documentation. The role also involves working with cloud architectures, relational databases, and object-oriented programming, with a focus on delivering efficient data warehousing solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Solutions: Interpret business requirements and develop Data Warehouse solutions.
- Data Modeling: Design models to source data from multiple systems, meeting specific business needs.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance on cloud technologies to team members with varying technical expertise.
- Cloud Migration: Identify and plan the migration of on-premises data solutions to the cloud.
- Coding and Scripting: Develop Oracle, Snowflake, and IICS ETL scripts; create shell/Python scripts for automation.
- Documentation: Maintain design documentation using industry standards.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor data processing, optimize storage performance, and enhance query efficiency in cloud environments.
- Query Support: Offer expertise in query writing and tuning for analysts and end-users.
- 24x7 On-Call Support: Participate in on-call rotation to ensure system reliability.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 7+ years in database development, including SQL code design, coding, and implementation.
- Experience with Data Warehouse applications on AWS and working with multi-terabyte databases.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle/Snowflake SQL, PL/SQL, and Informatica IICS.
- Familiarity with Airflow, GitHub, and cloud architectures.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Oracle, Snowflake SQL, and ETL development.
- Strong understanding of version control and GitHub.
- Knowledge of system and database administration, including backup & recovery.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Experience in a healthcare/claims processing environment is preferred.
Education and Certifications:
- Degree: BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred Certifications:
- AWS Cloud Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
- Snowflake Certification.
- Informatica IICS Certification.
