The Field Engineer will be responsible for conducting final testing, commissioning, and fine-tuning of sophisticated Audio-Visual systems both during and after installation. This role involves technical and management leadership on key tasks and technological initiatives, with a focus on setting and achieving project goals in alignment with project objectives. Working closely with the Project Manager, the Field Engineer will document and report test results from system commissioning and testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and analyze electronic schematics and architectural blueprints.
- Test and verify the functionality of system components.
- Review the Scope of Work (SOW) to ensure installation quality and completeness.
- Perform integration testing and troubleshoot Crestron and DSP systems.
- Field install control programs (Crestron, Biamp) with upload and download capabilities.
- Write code for DSP systems and make minor programming adjustments as directed.
- Optimize audio-visual systems to achieve peak performance.
- Configure IP-enabled devices for network communication.
- Provide client training and complete final documentation as required.
- Serve as the customer point of contact in the Project Manager s absence.
- Manage project punch lists from creation through completion.
- Travel to job sites as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent communication and business writing skills for internal and client interactions.
- Strong knowledge of test and calibration equipment.
- Experience with user acceptance testing.
- Ability to perform minor programming adjustments (Crestron, Biamp) for troubleshooting.
- Strong diagnostic skills for complex system issues.
- Proficiency in advanced signal flow for audio, video, and control systems.
- Solid understanding of IP networking.
