General Responsibilities

Job Skills / Requirements

Performs the day-to-day activities of buffing, waxing, carpet cleaning, and other cleaning task by current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations to assure that the facilities are maintained in a clean, safe and comfortable manner.

Schedule

  • Friday - Sunday
  • Hours vary within 4PM - 12AM
  • Flexible scheduled preferred.

Pay

  • $21.00-$23.00/hour (DOE)

Essential Functions

  • Stripping, Waxing, and Buffing for office buildings, laboratories, and related areas.
  • Auto scrubbing floors
  • Use of high-performance machinery
  • Extract carpet
  • Perform specific tasks by daily
  • Spot carpets
  • Be able and willing to move furniture around when floor care requires strip & wax.
  • Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to
  • Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and
  • Always observe safety precautions, use safety signs “wet floor”, “caution” and any others
  • Before the end of the shift, recheck all areas to ensure proper order, cleanliness, and completion of waste disposal.
  • Reports all incidents, accidents, hazardous conditions, or equipment to supervisors
  • Proper labeling, dilution, and use of all chemicals
  • Always wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.

Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions

The job duties require an employee to bend, reach, stand, and walk for extended periods. Must be able to lift 25-50 lbs., as needed. Repetitive use of hands, wrists, arms, and legs. Including climbing stairs and ladders.

Education And Work Experience Requirements

  • 1-2 years’ Experience cleaning, maintaining, and restoring floor surfaces.
  • 2-3 years’ Experience cleaning carpets using methods such as shampooing, bonneting, or applying dry cleaning chemicals.
  • 1-2 years’ Experience evening the gloss, polish, or sealant coating on surfaces with a cloth or specialized buffing tool.
  • Open availability: Overtime work and schedule adjustments may be needed/necessary. Holiday work may also be required.

Additional Information/Requirements

  • Able to work during the week is a plus.
  • Detail oriented and have communication skills to be able to report findings to immediate supervisor/manager.
  • Self starter.
  • The incumbent is required to cover other employees due to absenteeism/call off's, and planned vacations.
  • Must have a good driving record in order to drive company vehicles.
  • Adhere to company policies.
