We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) part of the US Army's Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation aircraft. This position is onsite in Fort Worth.
Wiring Systems Engineer
You will work with subsystem design engineers to develop an Electrical Wiring Interconnect System. Work with all disciplines that have an electrical interface on the aircraft. This covers from subsystem designers to: harness assemblers, build team installers, and electricians/maintainers of flight test and fielded aircraft. Hone your technical abilities on engineering problems, all while gaining experience in leadership and communication.
What you'll be doing as a Wiring Systems Engineer
Design and Integration of Aircraft Electrical Wiring Interconnect System (EWIS)
Creation of wiring architecture, diagrams and detailed harness drawings using Siemens Capital toolset
Developing the aircraft wiring architecture inclusive of conventional wiring, data bus cable assemblies (power, coax, fiber optic), junction boxes and panel assemblies. Design must account for: Voltage drop, EMI separation and redundancy
Release of wiring documents in coordination with aircraft systems engineers and wire routing and electrical install design engineers
Work across product teams to access, define, and capture information pertinent to the wiring design such as environmental needs/requirements of aircraft when selecting parts.
Selection of wire, connector and accessory components matching schematic requirements to the integration requirements of the aircraft
Support wiring supplier management, aircraft build installation, aircraft testing and operations, as well as aircraft/system qualification and certification
Skills You Bring To this Role
Experience with wiring diagram creation using wiring design toolsets, such as Siemens Capital
Familiarity with AS50881, military and industry standards along with bonding and grounding concepts for aircraft
Experience with aircraft wiring construction and troubleshooting techniques
Knowledge of multiple aircraft electrical interface types to include analog signals, RF, and serial data
Ability to prioritize work, strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a team player mindset.
Excellent communicator, must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, and brief leaders/customers.
What you need to be successful
We are looking for inquisitive and driven engineers with a passion to innovate.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology (or closely related field) is required.
Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience.
At least 2 years of experience in Aerospace wiring design
