We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA), part of the US Army's Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless, and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold tilt-rotor.

Aircraft Software Quality Sr. Engineers, DO-178 or DO-254

The Software Quality Assurance organization is responsible for planning, establishing, and maintaining an effective program that will ensure compliance with company, contractual, and regulatory requirements of deliverable software configuration items. The team supports new and legacy software development projects on both Commercial and Military Aircraft programs.

Bring your experience and ideas and help us develop compliant software for cutting edge commercial, military, manned and optionally manned aircraft, along with legacy aircraft.

This role will be an integral part of the team, working closely with customers and subcontractors to verify and audit that the delivered software complies with the standards set by the company and the regulator agency.

These roles are on site at our Fort Worth, TX headquarters and require up to 20% travel.

Wh at you'll be doing as a Software Quality Sr. Engineer:

This position participates in monitoring every phase of the software development process to ensure design quality, making sure that the aircraft delivered software adheres to the standards set by the development company and satisfies regulatory requirements.

Handle software process auditor work scope, technical requirements, program risks, and delivery milestone schedule.

Interface with systems and software development personnel, test and evaluation personnel, and project managers.

Review and approve systems, software and test equipment requirements, design, and test documentation for compliance to process requirements and standards.

Participate/interface with the engineering counterparts on program activities to assure processes and products are compliant to contractual and company process requirements and standards.

Participate in the software change control process boards

Work with SMEs, Customers, and Suppliers, with minimal direction from the manager or senior level peer to support technical issues as they relate to software quality.

Support efforts to train less experienced team members.

Continue to develop your knowledge base through research, training, and hands-on experience.

Skills You Bring To this Role:

2+ years directly related work experience with aerospace/defense industry software processes (such as RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP-4754, MIL-STD-498, etc.)

Experience in software requirements development.

Software design and coding (C/C++, Ada, or other embedded programming languages)

Embedded software/hardware verification background or knowledge.

Demonstrated basic understanding of audit techniques.

Demonstrated basic understanding of software development methods and software testing methods.

Ability to interpret schematic drawings, specifications, contracts that will enable development and review of systems & software processes.

What you need to be successful:

Bachelor of Science Degree is required in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science or other related degrees.

Ability to travel may be required to support program activities and auditing software suppliers up to 20% as the business requires.

Continuous learner to develop your knowledge base through research, training, and hands-on experience.
