Schneider Electric has a new opportunity for a Summer 2025 Application Development Engineer Intern. This position can be based in either our Raleigh, NC or Nashville, TN locations.

This summer intern will have the opportunity to gain exposure to the Energy Management world with real-life initiatives, projects and resume boosting experience within a Fortune 500 company. The Application Development Engineer Intern is a member of the Marketing & Product Management team. The candidate will work with the Power Products NAM Hub & Load Management Leader and team to support key initiatives while getting first-hand experience on how business runs outside of the classroom.

What will you do?

  • Provide technical expertise and support to co-engineer PLC based automation applications in Schneider Electric or third-party environments.
  • Participate in the creation and development of differentiated and innovative solutions to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engineer and execute PLC application conversion using SE technologies to enable future repetitive business.
  • Enrich the overall SE's application knowledge and experience by creating and sharing application guides, function blocks, white papers, and success stories.
  • Provide programming and technical development support for the Load Management group in their digital integration projects
  • Visit customers together with the salesforce or participate in virtual meetings to understand their needs and validate the solutions.
  • PLC programming and demo building to help customers solve and visualize the main solutions concepts whenever required (proof of concept "POC").
  • Develop required technical and commercial argumentation documents.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

  • Currently pursuing a technical education and/or engineering degree in Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
  • Ability to learn the following:
  1. Competence in programming functions and libraries in PLC environments
  2. Competence in creating visualizations/dashboards
  3. Competence in networking to establish connections between a cloud platform and an embedded ethernet device
  • Strong and open ability to communicate with customers, local sales and marketing teams
  • Customer focus, listening and communication skills.
  • Analytical skills: Can translate business requirements into an integrated automation solution and its recommended implementation.
  • Relevant experience with developing automation systems for machines or similar projects preferred
  • Local to Raleigh, NC or Nashville, TN. This position does not support relocation
