DISA & Safety Required
6-month assignment **MUST have Instrumentation or Electrical background. HM is looking for I & E background with experience in power and instrumentation. -Working with wide range of people from Engineers, PMs, Operators and Techs.
-Experience with AutoCad.
-Contractor will be going into the field. FRs, Steel Toes and additional safety equipment is required.
-must be able to function at a very high level. BASIC FUNCTION:
Conducts complex design assignments for the Engineering Department ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: (functions considered essential as defined by ADA)
Develops Engineering Standards for EI&C equipment purchases and installations
Plans Projects by developing schedules, and identifying improvement to existing processes
Implements Projects by monitoring performance, providing feedback to project team
Solves technical problems related to projects and troubleshoots and updates report data for business unit(s)
Upgrades, designs, configures equipment
Analyzes related components and systems
Ensures the maintenance and integrity of business unit(s) data
Designs chemical plant EI&C equipment
Conducts research to develop new and improved process
Designs and plans layout for EI&C on a commercial scale
Determines most effective arrangement of Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls and Power Distribution Equipment
Investigates and resolves work-in-process problems Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion. EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive work experience in electrical, instrumentation & controls is required PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Refinery or petrochemical industry experience is preferred. EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:
A minimum of a Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent amount of experience is required. REQUIRED SKILLS:
Ability to manage a project is essential. Working knowledge of commonly used engineering concepts and ability to apply this knowledge analytically. Ability to stay abreast of new technology developments and processes is essential. Technical expert in area of specialty. Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication. Advanced reading and writing skills, with the ability to perform complex mathematical calculations. PREFERRED SKILLS:
Working knowledge of Microsoft products and experience with engineering software is preferred. SUPERVISORY/MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: none WORK CONDITIONS:
Office and plant based. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, out-of-doors environment, and driver based environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, loud noises, vibrations, and exposure to the risk of electrical shock. Subject to all temperatures, weather and varying road conditions. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting ,stooping, crouching, kneeling, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 50lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 25lbs, climbing up to 200ft, ability to operate and drive all assigned company vehicles at company vehicles at company standard insurance rates is essential, valid state driver s license and proof of insurance required, perceiving color differences, and wearing personal protective equipment (beards not permitted) ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH, & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
