Job Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, management, control, and successful closure of ERP implementation and upgrade projects. This role involves driving projects toward successful outcomes that meet defined goals, scope, budget, and timelines. The Project Manager actively participates in creating project schedules, planning activities, monitoring progress, documenting processes, resolving issues, and reporting on project status. Additionally, the Project Manager fosters a positive and collaborative environment for the project team.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to confirm project scope, objectives, and business justification, structuring, controlling, and reporting on projects of varied sizes and complexities.
- Coordinate with professional services leadership to schedule consulting and development resources, aligning skillsets with project needs and managing availability.
- Provide client support through timely responses to phone, email, and other inquiries.
- Ensure successful project delivery through proactive planning, scheduling, and oversight of planned and reactive work activities.
- Lead communications about project implementation processes, approaches, and progress to key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage work schedules and reassign support calls or requests to the appropriate resources.
- Maintain clear communication across the project lifecycle.
- Track and manage scheduled tasks effectively throughout the week.
- Establish and manage client expectations with clear and consistent verbal and written communication.
- Follow up with clients post-implementation to ensure satisfaction and identify improvement opportunities.
- Continuously assess and document project risks and issues, maintaining risk logs and contingency plans.
- Define and implement a robust communication strategy, keeping stakeholders informed on project risks, progress, and budget.
- Coordinate with clients, consulting and development teams, and management to confirm new project requests and schedules.
- Communicate client feedback to services teams to support process improvement.
- Provide clients with regular schedule updates and monitor customer satisfaction with delivered work.
- Maintain a skills matrix within the department for efficient resource utilization.
- De-escalate client complaints and report critical issues to management as appropriate.
- Ensure immediate action on rework to minimize client impact.
- Collaborate with technical teams, business consultants, external contractors, and clients as necessary.
- Adapt communication and scheduling to ensure reliable and timely service delivery.
- Ensure technical resources understand client business requirements and project objectives.
- Use ERP applications (such as SyteLine/CloudSuite Industrial) or other software tools to track projects and report time and expenses.
- Support process improvement initiatives and related projects.
Requirements:
- Experience with SyteLine/CloudSuite Industrial (CSI) is required.
- Minimum of five years of ERP project management experience, particularly within manufacturing ERP software.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Seven or more years of project management experience, with at least five years in complex ERP project delivery.
- PMP certification is required (must be obtained within 12 months of hire).
- Interest in developing project management skills, tools, and methodologies.
- Ability to travel domestically up to 35%.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in risk management planning with a solid understanding of risk mitigation in projects.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Executive-level communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging with both frontline team members and executive personnel.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Project).
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines and detailoriented work.
