Title: Sr. Data Analyst
Location: Remote
Duration: 6 months contract
The Senior Data Analyst will play a key role in transforming data into actionable business insights and decision-making. Leveraging advanced analytical skills, this role will collaborate with cross functional teams to uncover trends, drive decision-making, and contribute to the strategic vision of the Data and Analytics department.
The Senior Data Analyst works with high volume data sets from the data lake, and presents the data in a consumable way for self-service analytics or other data delivery methods. The incumbent works on assignments and issues involving moderate to complex analysis where data is needed by a variety of stakeholders, including internal teams and external healthcare technology customers.
Responsibilities:
Design and build data analytic solutions from concept to implementation in an agile environment.
Participate in the full systems development lifecycle, including providing estimates, gathering reporting requirements, profiling data, establishing designs, building queries and front-end designs, performing code reviews, quality assurance, and deploying solutions.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure backend data structures and semantic layer are designed properly and fit-for-purpose.
Ensure overall reporting solution quality, reliability, and performance.
Provide operational support and maintenance on reporting solutions, including incident management and troubleshooting for issue resolution.
Support upgrades, configuration and troubleshooting for BI tools.
Develop and maintain up-to-date documentation.
Track and respond to ad hoc data extracts; evaluate the tracking information to propose new reporting solutions that promote self-service.
Provide thought partnership in data management and data analytics industry best practices.
Participate in the evaluation of new technologies for continuous improvement.
Comply with data governance policies and standards.
Assist with problem resolution of data and reporting issues; collaborate on developing new solutions.
Mentor and provide leadership to junior data analysts.
Proactively determine approaches to optimize data collection and lead automation efforts including the creation of self-service tools.
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience in the field of Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics/Statistics.
5+ years of experience in a data analyst role. related, progressive roles
Proficiency in SQL, data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker Studio, PowerBI)
Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and statistical methods.
Knowledge and fluency with relevant programming languages like Python or R
Experience creating intuitive user interfaces for decision support.
Hands-on experience in full systems development lifecycle for reporting and BI solutions
Working knowledge of Hadoop (Hive, Impala) to extract data into insights.
Experience working with relational databases (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server)
Proficient in data analysis to solve a wide variety of business problems.
Demonstrated understanding of database design (logical and physical, relational, and dimensional)
Strong knowledge of Data Lake, Data Warehouse, BI and analytic capabilities, and concepts
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex insights to diverse stakeholders.
Self-starter, flexible, and able to organize and prioritize tasks.
Detail oriented and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
Enhanced organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and complete projects independently within established timeframes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Data modeling and data design experience
Experience with Cloud Based Technology like Google Cloud Platform
Experience with scheduling and workload automation technology (Airflow).
Experience with related information management disciplines (e.g. data quality management, master data management, metadata management, data governance, data architecture)
Experience with health care data.
Experience in managing user acceptance testing (UAT) in agile environments.
Familiarity with incident management workflows and observability tool
The projected hourly range for this position is $65 to $70.
