We are seeking a Motorsports Engineering intern within the Applied Vehicle Dynamics group to do complex analytical work that would positively contribute to the bottom line of our culture and company. Your attention to detail is critical to deliver projects to the highest standards. You must be proficient in completing engineering related tasks using computer software and possess an aptitude for proactively engaging with others.

The Team:
We are seeking a Motorsports Engineering intern within the Applied Vehicle Dynamics group to do complex analytical work that would positively contribute to the bottom line of our culture and company. Your attention to detail is critical to deliver projects to the highest standards. You must be proficient in completing engineering related tasks using computer software and possess an aptitude for proactively engaging with others.
What You'll Do:
- Document baseline simulation settings for on track events
- Light simulation and track data analysis using Pi Toolbox and/or Motec
- Assist in database part creation and input
- Assist in simulation software release notes documentation
- Assist in supporting static driver-in-loop simulation sessions
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: Mechanical Engineering, Computer, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Must be graduating between December 2025 and December 2026
- Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week
- Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail
- Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new engineering software applications
- Demonstrated passion for motorsports engineering
What will give you a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- Strong interest in controls engineering, dynamic systems, optimization, data analytics and performance vehicle strategy
- Previous motorsports experience
- Familiarity with .NET (C#) programming technology
Start dates for this internship role are May & June of 2025.
Compensation:
- The salary range for this role is $4000-$6100 monthly, dependent upon class status and degree.
- GM will provide a one-time lump sum taxable stipend payment to eligible students selected for the 2025 Student Program.
