F&G is looking to hire for a Sr. System Administrator

This role will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the company's integration and application development platforms, ecosystem, and processes in support of F&G business needs. Daily work will focus on workflow system administration, configuration, monitoring and optimization of a core set of technologies used across the enterprise. The Sr. System Administrator will address software performance related support issues and provide additional guidance and support to IT Solution Delivery teams, and first and second level Service Desk technicians. In addition, this senior level role will provide third level service desk support and act as an escalation point for complex application support issues.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design, code, test, and document systems, reusable integration components, and patterns that adhere to F&G's software development methodologies, frameworks, standards, and security requirements
  • Provide education on best practices and use of the system, and mentor other users and developers on company standards and guidelines on technology use
  • Understand and develop a working knowledge of other integration and application development technologies
  • Perform unit, regression, security, and load tests to validate system readiness for Production workloads
  • Conduct application security reviews in conjunction with the Security Team
  • Support and execute IT Governance Controls and Service Management processes and procedures
  • Perform impact analysis for interface and system changes affecting the system
  • Work closely with IT Solution Delivery teams to understand enterprise integration needs
  • Collaborate with Architecture teams to create and follow roadmaps and technical governance
  • Collaborate with teammates and vendor to complete complex tasks for large IT project initiatives, and assist in developing estimates for project and maintenance work
  • Implement and maintain integration and application development systems to meet the organization's current and future requirements
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors, suppliers and contract consultants
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of current industry standards relating to enterprise software applications and how they are installed, configured, and supported in an enterprise environment
  • Contribute to the development and documentation of corporate policies and procedures
  • Manage cloud and on-premise environments in accordance with company security guidelines
  • Monitor and manage integrations with internal and external systems and platforms
  • Help coordinate an Integration Center of Excellence to facilitate integration-related training, best practices, and information sharing across the organization
  • Provide Close Support problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution Tier II, III problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution or escalates to Vendor
  • Communicate with the network administrator to forecast network requirements and to debug any network issues that affect user access to mission-critical data.
  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems
  • Creation of system documentation, standard operating procedures, and system guides

Experience & Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred emphasis in computer science or MIS) or equivalent experience
  • 3 -7 years of experience in System Administration
  • 3-5 years of hands-on integration platform administration and technical experience
  • Thorough understanding of, and demonstrated experience with, API concepts and best practices
  • Experience with various SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, RAD, etc.)
  • Experience developing system, data and application integrations between 3rd-party commercial applications

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with secure administration and development practices and knowledge of OWASP Top Ten
  • Experience with ImageRight workflow system fundamentals, architecture and design
  • Experience building and updating ImageRight configurations.
  • Experience with Imageright Enterprise Management Console
  • Life/Annuity insurance industry or financial services experience
  • Experience with cloud-based services, preferably AWS or Azure
  • Experience working within an effective SOX/internal control environment
