Why you'll love this job
The Fleet Analysis & Network Innovation team plays a critical role in the development and implementation of our medium and long-term network strategy. Fleet Analysis projects range from LOPA design & evaluation to miscellaneous analytics, including optimization of fleet size and gauge, retrofit projects and cabin level economics. This line of work requires close coordination with other Network Planning teams in addition to Fleet Planning, Tech Ops, Onboard Products, Flight Service, Onboard Dining, Engineering, Tech Ops and Corporate Communications, among others. In addition to performing the analysis, this team is also responsible for continuous improvement of tools and methodologies used to analyze fleet decisions, working with Operations Research and others. Network Innovation work includes evaluation of alternative hub structures, evaluation of minimum maintenance requirements (MMR), and other forms of schedule optimization. This area of responsibility also features the development of the annual 5-Year Network Plan in the form of future summer peak day schedules compliant with all operational parameters. The Network 5YP incorporates all aspects of our network strategy, from infrastructure to partnerships, from fleet & LOPAs to maintenance requirements, from hub structures to operational parameters, and from aircraft deployment to cost optimization. This requires coordination with other teams in Network Planning and many stakeholders, including Corporate Real Estate, Finance, Ops Planning & Analysis to name a few. The production of schedules is aimed at translating the strategy into a product easily 'consumable' by a disparate range of stakeholders throughout the company. All with an eye to competition and our ever-evolving business priorities. The nature of the work drives many opportunities to work with other parts of the company at all levels of seniority, and it requires multi-functional and multi-disciplinary understanding of the airline business in a fast-paced and stimulating environment where hard and soft skills are critical for success.
