Job Description
Butterfly Network is looking for a hands-on Failure Analysis Technician with a strong track record of efficiently analyzing and root causing complex hardware failures. Our ideal candidate has a high attention to detail, is excited about clever engineering designs, curious about why things work (or don't) and wants to make insanely great products.
To be successful in this role, you must have strong analysis, technical, and laboratory skills. You will have a high level understanding of electronics, PCBs, semiconductors, and electronic system designs to allow you to dig deep into hardware failures. You should be familiar with electronics lab equipment as well as lab chemicals and equipment commonly used in failure analysis. You should have good communication skills. You should be comfortable in a Linux environment and have experience operating command line tools.
As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:
- Processing volumes of field system returns
- Employ a variety techniques to root cause and document failure mechanisms
- Test and characterize performance of ultrasonic imaging systems
- Perform simple data entry
- Perform a broad variety of tasks in support of the role and responsibilities
Qualifications
Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:
- Associates degree or higher in an engineering discipline
- Competent at operating in Linux environments and using command line tools
- Familiar with electronics lab equipment
- Strong technical communication skills
Ideally, you also have these skills/experiences/attributes (but it's ok if you don't!):
- An understanding of electronics, manufacturing, product and system engineering, and semiconductors
Location
This role must be in person to perform duties and based out of our Burlington, MA office.
Compensation
This is an hourly position with a rate of around $33 an hour. Estimated hours are 40 hours a week.
