Azamara is seeking a Director of Enterprise Transformation & PMO to join our team. We are looking for a visionary and strategic leader for our PMO and Transformation role responsible for establishing, leading, and ensuring the efficient operation of the Project Management office.
This role will set up Project Governance and drive the standardization of project management practices, methodologies and tools to ensure successful project delivery. This role is pivotal in facilitating project planning, execution, monitoring and reporting as well as fostering collaboration among cross-functional teams to achieve product innovation and brand excellence across the enterprise. You translate strategic initiatives into projects, portfolios, roadmaps, programs and plans that ensure completion within prescribed timeframe and budget to realize project outcomes and benefits.
You influence and partner with senior leadership and business leaders to develop short-term and long-term roadmaps for all product, new build and transformation projects. You function as an in-house process driver and enabler of top priority initiatives in a fast-paced environment. You demonstrate excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, and the ability to efficiently manage resources, processes, systems, vendors and complex deliverables. You oversee a team of highly skilled, professional Program and Project Managers. As the leader, you will oversee the planning and delivery of projects using portfolio management, project management, and organizational change management disciplines.
This role will assist the Chief Information Officer (CIO) with the enterprise transition program reporting and fulfilling the requirements to successfully build shared services functions to support Azamara Cruises.
This position will be independently supporting and integrating multiple Technology project plans/teams and cross functional dependencies across other business operations groups. This role will need to balance strategic vision and tactical execution to be successful. You will establish the key project teams and forecast and track the availability of resources (internal & external) to do the project work throughout the project life cycle. You will publish weekly, monthly and annual portfolio reporting based on information collected from the project teams, and you will oversee the closure of projects with follow-up reporting to those who approved them. From time to time, the PMO may be required to identify projects that should be frozen or canceled based on criteria set forth by the leadership and/or industry best practices. The successful candidate has successful experience in leading teams through transformation, creating and running project management systems, have experience leading teams, and is very comfortable working with executives at all levels of organizations. This person will be managing high-risk and highly visible projects.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: (Job Duties)
  • Program & Portfolio Management
  • Provide big-picture assistance to the organization and manage all aspects of related projects to ensure alignment of the overall program with strategic business objectives.
  • Manager a portfolio of initiatives that span across business units or lines of business.
  • Assisting business and technology leaders with building out base plans to execute Technology roadmap.
  • Assisting business and technology leaders with articulating new project ideas.
  • Forecasting future resource capacity and reporting on existing resource utilization.
  • Program/Project Tracking & Communication
  • Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables including key escalations from business teams, project teams, and 3rd party partners.
  • Work analytically and creatively using teamwork, innovation, and excellence to solve problems.
  • Monitor project team performance and assist in performance reviews.
  • Develop and execute a communication strategy for all the different project stakeholders.
  • Report on project status, progress, metrics, risks, test results, and deployment activities. The responsibility also includes providing feedback, advice, and encouragement to the project managers and team members.
  • Budget Management (Forecasting, actuals, and reporting overall program/project financial health)
  • Presenting accurate representations of project progress, health, risks, and ongoing challenges including mitigation plans when appropriate.
  • Managing portfolio and project processes to maximize throughput of selected projects.
  • Validating portfolio-level risks, reporting before alerting senior leadership of its availability.
  • Operational Responsibility
  • Attending various steering committee and PMO meetings, representing the PMO and project management interests.
  • Ensuring the completeness of project SDLC documentation and portfolio reporting.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR: (Requirements)
  • Bachelor s degree in the field of computer science and/or project management. Master s degree a plus or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT program and project management, preferably in a senior leadership role.
  • One or more of the following certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Agile Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Scrum CSM, Certified Scrum Professional
  • A proven track record of leading and delivering large-scale, complex and strategic enterprise projects
  • Broad experience in managing high-risk, high-visibility projects.
  • A strong understanding of program project management methodologies, frameworks and tools.
  • Specific knowledge Projects and Portfolio management platform(s) required.
  • Extensive experience with Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence, and other program/project/product management tools.
  • Deep knowledge of systems applications, and infrastructure, as well as emerging technologies and trends
  • Working technical knowledge of Back-office systems (HR, Financial/ERP, Procurement, etc) as well as integration and orchestration layers in the tech stack.
  • Strong understanding of project, portfolio, OCM, and Agile techniques
  • Experience and familiarity with the functioning of a PMO and steering committee

  • Experience with Hospitality or Cruise industry required
