The successful candidate should be self-motivated, have a great work ethic, and be able to work well with little supervision, in various environments or inclement weather. This position will have the opportunity to be promoted to a Water Meter Installer.
As a Laborer, you will be expected to perform the following:
Responsibilities include:
- Follow project instructions from Field Service Manager or Site Supervisor
- Cut various parts for product assembly.
- Frequently stand, walk, use hands to feel and handle supplies and equipment; use hands and arms to reach, lift, etc.
- Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
- Work independently and in a team environment.
- Maintain and follow required attire and grooming standards.
- Follow UMS standards of safety, productivity, and quality of work.
In this position, you can expect to receive continuous feedback from your supervisor, in an effort, to help you improve your performance and possibly move up to another field service position.
UMS will provide step-by-step training to be successful.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- Monday - Friday work week, occasionally Saturdays
- $14.00/ hourly

Qualifications:
- Must have and maintain a valid Driver s License.
- Must have and maintain a vehicle & proof of insurance.
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
- Must have clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to work all required shifts.
- Achieve standards of safety, productivity, and quality of work.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Must work under the following conditions:
- Wear a company-approved uniform and required PPE, which is provided by the company.
- Stand, walk, reach, using hands and arms frequently.
- Perform work outdoors, in variable weather conditions and environments.
- Follow oral and written directions, plans, and instructions from the Field Service Manager.
- Lift up to 50 lbs., bend, and stoop repetitively, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Perform various work functions that include physical efforts to handle materials.
- Maintain reliability and dependability.
- Assist with other activities when needed.
- Experience with plasma equipment is preferred, but not required.
