Seeking a Senior Configuration and Data Management Specialist (Lead) experienced in performing the configuration and data management functions to provide support to the Space Nuclear Propulsion (SNP) team at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). SNP is a Game changing development project to determine the feasibility of nuclear propulsion engines for deep space exploration. This full-time position will act as a lead for the existing CDM professional team and guide the support needed to ensure critical SNP decisions and activities are formally controlled, maintained, and communicated to MSFC and other NASA Centers supporting the SNP project. SharePoint will be used to support the change management process and maintain the program baseline.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:- Technical and Programmatic Review Preparation
- Integration of project support personnel to include SNP leadership, scheduling, Technology Demonstration Mission/Science and Technology Mission Directorate and NASA headquarters to ensure cohesive process implementation across stakeholders.
- Provide leadership to existing configuration and data management personnel to ensure effective implementation of CM and DM processes.
- Provide guidance to the SNP leadership on the integration of programmatic data as well as the implementation of control processes project data.
- Support SNP Reactor RFP Weekly Tag-up and Strategy Development Team.
- Provide secretariat support to the Control Boards and the Risk Management Board. As necessary, develop and maintain agendas, meeting minutes, directive actions and logs.
- Provide Change Package Manager (CPM) support to all SNP data items as well as develop and maintain all CM&DM related work instructions.
- Coordinate and submit technical packages for release to the NASA Technical Report Server (NTRS) as the NTRS POC.
- Coordinate off-site technical meetings and conference support planning to ensure required project data is developed and managed.
Job Specifications:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum of 18 years of applicable CDM to include management of baselines, operation of project control boards, and configuration status accounting experience is required. Minimum of 21 years experience if substituting for degree.
- Proficient knowledge of CDM functions such as change management, utilizing tools for change and action tracking, and development of agendas and minutes is required.
- Experience with a fast-paced, space technology development project environment is preferred.
- Experience managing technical and programmatic reviews including development of data items, chart packages and templates is required.
- Current/recent SharePoint (advanced knowledge) administrator experience required.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & Power Point) is required.
- Experience managing receipt and processing of contractor data deliverables is desired.
- Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, have strong interpersonal skills, and work under minimal supervision.
- Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interface with all levels of an organization.
- US Citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain clearance/access onsite at NASA MSFC is required.
- Appropriate industry certifications such as National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) CDM Manager or NDIA CDM Specialist are desired.
- Expertise in handling and management of data marked as Proprietary, Limited Rights, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), International Traffic in Arms Regulation(s) (ITAR), Limited Rights Data, and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) is required.
