DataStaff is seeking a HRIS Analyst for a contract opportunity with one of our direct clients located in Richmond, VA.
This position is hybrid; the selected candidate will need onsite 2-3 days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain the organizations HRIS applications and modules.
- Perform back-end data and configuration work (much of which is very manual-touching individual employee time & system records).
- Managing mailboxes with customer requests/inquires for systems access and other inquiries.
- Supports the HRIS Unit, which may include large volume of data entry in both the Time and Attendance System (DOCTime) and Human Capital Management system (Cardinal).
- Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to HR system users.
- Manages permissions, access, personalization, and similar system operations and settings for HR system users.
- Audits and updates HRIS data fields as necessary.
- Programs custom functions and documentation such as automated queries, filters, and reports.
- Compiles or assists with the acquisition of complex data reports, summaries, and logs for senior executives and HR staff.
- Ensures system compliance with data security and privacy requirements.
- Collaborates with HR staff and vendor to identify system improvements and enhancements; recommends and implements solutions.
- Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in HRIS providers, vendors, and technology.
- Performs other duties as required.
Required Knowledge/Abilities:

- Familiarity with human resource policies and procedures to ensure the HRIS meets organizational needs and goals.
- Ability to keep information confidential.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, with strong Excel skills.
- Thorough understanding of all areas of information systems with a highly technical understanding of at least one commercial HRIS product.
Education and Experience:
- At least two years related experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, human resource management, or related field preferred.
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged typing (repetitive movements of the hands and wrists)
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Required Skills:
- 3 Years - Ability to work with, update, and maintain HRIS databases
- 3 Years - Understanding of information systems with a highly technical understanding of at least one commercial HRIS product
- 3 Years - Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- 3 Years - Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access)
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and technical support skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to keep information confidential.
Desired Skill:
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred
