A Day in the Life
A DevOps Engineer works with developers and the IT staff to oversee the code releases, combining an understanding of both engineering and coding. From creating and implementing systems software deployment pipelines to analyzing data of infrastructure to improve the applications performance and environments, a DevOps Engineer increases productivity in the workplace. They understand the software development lifecycle and have a clear understanding of various automation tools for developing digital pipelines (CI/CD pipelines).

We are looking for passionate, hard-working, and talented DevOps Engineers who have experience supporting highly agile dev team. The ideal candidate must be detail oriented, have good verbal and written communication skills, able to juggle multiple tasks at once, able to work independently. You must be able to identify problems before they happen and implement solutions that detect and prevent outages

This position is onsite in Northridge, CA

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
  • Deploy, automate, maintain, and manage AWS non-prod/prod systems
  • Make sure AWS production systems are reliable, secure, and scalable
  • Resolve problems across multiple application domains and platforms using system troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques
  • Automate different operational processes by designing, maintaining, and managing tools
  • Provide primary operational support and engineering for all Cloud and Enterprise deployments
  • Incorporate the organizations platform security efforts by collaborating with the core engineering team
  • Develop policies, standards, and guidelines for IAC and CI/CD that teams can follow
  • Ensure uptime of 99.99% and 99% quality of service (degradation)
  • Ensure proper environment documentation.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required and 2+ years of relevant experience
  • or advanced degree with 0+ years of experience

Nice to Have
  • Knowledge of web services, distributed systems, and web application development
  • AWS certified Developer or SysOps administrator
  • 2+ years AWS experience
  • Experience working on AWS platform and have working knowledge on general infrastructure services including knowledge on working on container platforms
  • Development and testing skills
  • Have a good knowledge on automation using programming languages like python
  • Experience working in a large agile team
  • Experience with using AWS Cloudformation, Terraform or other IaC tools
  • Experience with CI/CD and should have familiarity with CI/CD tools like jenkins, GitLab
  • Experience troubleshooting & maintaining hardware & software
  • Experience in Medical devices domain

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$101,600.00 - $152,400.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
