Job Description
The ERP Technology Services Unit is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team and lead our efforts in optimizing and managing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, and a strong background in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure technologies.

This is a fulltime remote position. Incumbent must live within the United States. Mayo Clinic will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position including F1 OPT STEM.
Qualifications
Required qualifications for this position include: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field with 5 years of experience as noted below; OR an Associate's degree in Computer/Science/Engineering or related field with 7 years of experience.
Have in-depth knowledge of software engineering with experience coding applications or services in a high-level language (C, C++, Golang, Java, C# etc.) and a basic knowledge of related fields.
Demonstrated problem solving and time management skills. Possesses strong technical aptitude for designing and implementing software solutions. Experience with modern application development frameworks
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. Deep hands-on technical expertise, excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with Agile software development techniques.

The ERP Technology Services Unit is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team and lead our efforts in optimizing and managing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, and a strong background in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architecture & Design: Design and implement scalable and secure cloud solutions on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, ensuring alignment with best practices and organizational goals. Establish a technical roadmap for OCI.
- Infrastructure Management: Manage OCI resources including compute, storage, and networking, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop automation scripts using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or OCI CLI to streamline deployment and management processes.
- Monitoring & Optimization: Set up monitoring tools to analyze system performance and identify areas for improvement. Optimize costs and resource utilization.
- Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices and compliance measures within OCI, including identity and access management (IAM) and data encryption.
- Collaboration: Work across the organization with cross-functional teams including other key technical resources within the section and across IT and business areas to support cloud-based applications and services.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for cloud infrastructure issues, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution.
- Documentation & Training: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architecture and processes. Provide training and mentorship to other Environment Managers within the team.
Successful candidate will have the following:
- High level of proficiency in cloud architecture principles, cloud security, and networking.
- Strong experience with OCI services such as Compute, Storage, Networking, and Database.
- Experience with scripting languages and automation tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on teamwork.
- Previous experience as a technical leader.

- At least 5 years of experience in automation architecture and design.
- Experience and excellent understanding of Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Bot Service, ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Computer Vision, Intelligent Document Understanding and other Gen AI tools.
- Experience with architecture and design of chatbots and virtual agents.
- Experience with Python and other AI programming languages.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of LLMs and LLM-based solutions.
- Strong knowledge of business process automation, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) technologies, low-code/no-code technologies, and scripting technologies.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Automation, UiPath or other Robotic Process Automation (RPA) technologies strongly preferred.
- Experience in designing and architecting automation solutions for the healthcare industry will be given strong consideration
- Experience in integrating automation solutions with various systems and applications using APIs, web services, databases, etc.
- Experience working across multiple cloud and hybrid cloud environments including Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience in documenting and maintaining the automation architecture, design, and code.
- Experience in training and mentoring automation developers, engineers and testers on the best practices and standards of automation development.
- Experience with Scrum and Agile software development.
- Evidence of strong analytical skills, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Evidence of strong communication, meeting management, and organizational skills and ability to adjust the message as appropriate to the audiences of varying technical capabilities.
