Pay: Salary offers are based on candidates' education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position.
Salary Range: $99,200 - $181,216 (Full Performance - Senior)
Salary range varies by work level and relevant experience to the position.
On the job training, internal NSA courses, and external training will be made available based on the need and experience of the selectee.

Responsibilities
As a Business Technologist, you will assist management (i.e., executives, managers, business analysts, and decision makers throughout the Agency) in a wide range of operational (day-to-day) and strategic business issues and actions to support decision-making by providing data, analytical tools and evaluation techniques/methods. Utilize state-of-the-art computer technologies to capture and model significant business processes and evaluate business practices. This work will be accomplished in coordination with teams of managers, data stewards, process partners, and customers to facilitate the delivery of the business intelligence necessary to guide the Agency toward strategic success. Use a variety of computer software tools including, but not limited to: Data Base Management Systems (DBMS), On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP), Data Mining, Report Generation, Data Transformation, and modeling. Well versed in utilizing performance measurement techniques, economic analysis, data warehousing, managerial cost accounting, business modeling and financial reporting.
Business Technologist day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Employing some combination (2 or more) of analysis, computer science, mathematics, and software engineering skills to devise strategies for extracting meaning and value from large datasets.
- Through analytic modeling, scripting, and/or programming, develop and implement qualitative and quantitative methods for characterizing large datasets in various states of organization, cleanliness and structure.
- Reviewing the nature and quality of cost data sources and evaluate their relevance to analyses; recommending action for improvement and use of sources.
- Translating practical mission needs and analytic questions related to large datasets into technical requirements and, conversely, assist others with drawing appropriate conclusions from the analysis of such data.
- Effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences through varied visualization and presentation methods.
- Design analytic tables, reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools and platforms.
