Position: Enterprise Architect Location: Remote (must reside in Rockville, MD or greater DMV area)

Requirements:

  • Experience: 5+ years in enterprise-wide architecture (Java or Python); 5+ years in AWS architecture; familiarity with Low Code/No Code platforms (Appian preferred); federal government experience, especially with FDA.
  • Skills: In-depth knowledge of federal regulations (FISMA, NIST), proficiency in enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF), and experience with modeling tools (Enterprise Architect, ARIS).
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., CEA, CISSP) are a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities; ability to work collaboratively in teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture framework in line with federal standards.
  • Create architectural models and documentation for current and target states.
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations and architectural governance.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies and third-party solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical teams for implementation of IT strategies.
  • Communicate architectural value to stakeholders and facilitate discussions.

Project Overview:
Work as part of the Office of CTO on digital transformation projects for the FDA, including enterprise-wide cloud migration to AWS, collaborating with technical leadership and other architects.
