Position Overview : This role is part of a high-profile finance transformation project focused on restructuring and enhancing financial and data integration systems, aligning with the Plan to Perform initiative. The overarching goal of this initiative is to streamline financial data handling and improve system efficiencies across various departments. As a key player in this multi-million-dollar project, the IT Project Management Specialist will ensure that project objectives are met, managing extensive resources, budgets, and cross-departmental coordination efforts to drive the project forward. The IT Project Management Specialist will be responsible for overseeing critical aspects of the transformation project, such as developing detailed project plans, managing financial reports, and coordinating the integration of IT solutions

Required Skills/Experience :
  • Bachelors degree with 5-8 years of experience in IT project management, especially in managing large-scale or complex IT projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project
  • Demonstrated experience managing financial systems (Oracle, Peoplesoft, SAP) and data integration projects
  • Expertise in developing project plans, managing resources, and implementing risk management strategies, with a track record of successful delivery within waterfall project management frameworks
  • Budget management experience with responsibility for overseeing $1M+ project budgets
  • Strong leadership, communication, and facilitation skills for managing matrixed teams, with ability to effectively interface with various internal and external stakeholders to achieve project alignment

Preferred Skills (But Not Required) :
  • Experience with Power Plan and Maximo software applications
  • Knowledge of change management processes and experience in developing and implementing training plans for end-users in IT projects

Day to Day/Responsibilities :
  • Develop detailed project plans, outlining necessary steps and resources required to meet project scope, budget, and timeline objectives for finance-related IT transformation initiatives
  • Coordinate with the PMO and key stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and success metrics, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals
  • Track project budgets, prepare monthly financial reports, and forecast project spending, identifying and documenting any variances
  • Establish risk management frameworks by creating risk management plans and maintaining a risk register to monitor and address project risks
  • Assign tasks to team members and manage action items to ensure timely follow-up and resolution, maintaining project momentum
  • Oversee the delivery of IT solutions to meet project requirements, coordinating all aspects of data migration and system integration tasks to ensure smooth transitions
  • Complete project closeout activities, document lessons learned, and organize project documentation per company standards, using Microsoft Project and other PMO tools
  • Facilitate change management by coordinating the development of test plans and user training to ensure organizational readiness
