Evans is hiring experienced Strategic Design Facilitator to join their growing team in one of their contracts in Washington DC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design thinking methodologies and experience working in a defense or federal government environment. This role requires a strategic thinker who can facilitate workshops, guide teams through human-centered design processes, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions that meet mission-critical needs.

Location Details: This role is hybrid with 1 day/week on-site in Laurel, MD.

  • Lead design thinking sessions and workshops with DoD stakeholders to identify challenges, generate innovative solutions, and prototype concepts that address complex problems.
  • Apply human-centered design principles to ensure that solutions are tailored to the end-user's needs, focusing on usability, feasibility, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including military personnel, government leaders, and technical experts, to gather insights and drive consensus on design solutions.
  • Provide strategic guidance to clients on how to implement design thinking methodologies to achieve their organizational objectives.
  • Develop prototypes that bring concepts to life, leveraging iterative testing and feedback loops to refine solutions.
  • Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and resources to ensure successful execution of design thinking initiatives.
  • Produce comprehensive documentation, including workshop materials, design artifacts, and final reports that capture the outcomes and impact of design thinking engagements.
Requirements:
  • Active security clearance (or ability to obtain one) is required.
  • A Bachelor s degree in Design, Business, or Psychology plus 5 years of experience is required. A master s degree is preferred.
  • Experience executing design thinking, human-centered design, or innovation consulting methodologies.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and drive collaborative problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in design thinking tools and techniques, such as journey mapping, prototyping, and user research.
  • Ability to navigate complex organizational structures and influence decision-making at various levels.
  • Project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines and deliverables.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and digital transformation projects.
  • Active security clearance (or ability to obtain one) is required.
  • DoD experience or government consulting experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes and defense-related technologies is preferred.

Compensation

Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $100,000 to $135,000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Evans s total compensation package for employees.
