We are looking to add a NEPA Specialist/Planner who will help foster our mission that All People Should Live in Safe, Sustainable and Beautiful Communities and who can demonstrate professionalism and who are curious, self-motivated candidates capable of leading and supporting multiple planning projects.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Develop and/or guide the development of planning studies, technical memorandums, and reports in support of new and updated plans, programs, regulations, and proposed projects.
- Assisting Project Managers with transportation needs analysis, alternatives evaluation and screening, and impact assessments to the built and natural environments.
- Performing basic computations, researching and preparing technical reports, feasibility studies, and state/federal environmental documents.
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor s Degree or Master s Degree in Urban and Regional Studies; Urban Planning; Geography; Public Administration or other applicable discipline from an accredited college
- Six (6) or more experience working with NEPA documentation and/or environmental reviews and permitting
- AICP Certification strongly preferred
- Knowledge and prior experience with environmental review and documentation, as it pertains to compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
- Experienced in working with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies and stakeholders on transportation projects
- Knowledge of transportation planning methods and application at the local and regional level
- Experience researching methods and statistical principles related to natural resource assessments, urban/rural growth and development
- Applied knowledge of methods and techniques of effective technical report preparation and presentations
- Experience writing and reviewing technical reports, including federal Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, and Environmental Impacts Statements
