Job Summary

Our client, a leading name in insurance consulting, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Claims Consultant with expertise in complex liability and long-tail tort claims. This role sits within the Complex Liability Consulting (CLC) practice, which provides specialized services in managing high-value mass tort and complex liability claims for corporate clients. As a Senior Claims Consultant, you ll be pivotal in developing and implementing strategies to maximize insurance recovery on claims related to asbestos, toxic torts, chemicals, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, pollution, and other product and premises liabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Claims Management: Implement strategic plans to optimize clients insurance recovery on mass tort and long-tail claims, especially those with high dollar value.
• Data Organization & Tracking: Organize and maintain information on litigation costs and claims, ensuring all data aligns with established protocols and client standards.
• Client & Insurer Communication: Act as a liaison between clients and insurers, addressing coverage issues, claim notifications, and litigation costs.
• Policy Analysis: Review and analyze insurance policies to assess commercial general liability and excess liability coverage issues relevant to complex claims.
• Research & Investigation: Conduct in-depth research on financial solvency of insurers, and investigate details related to claims and policy coverage.
• Documentation & Reporting: Draft, review, and manage legal documents including claim notifications, tracking responses, and ensuring effective client communication.

Qualifications

• Experience: 3-5+ years in claims management, preferably with experience handling complex liability claims at a law firm, insurance company, or third-party administrator.
• Specialization: Proven expertise with long-tail tort claims, particularly in areas such as asbestos, toxic torts, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, environmental and premises liability.
• Education: Bachelor s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with claim tracking systems is a plus.
