Job Summary
The Laboratory Technician 3 performs routine and specialized laboratory work in process development, applying general and specific chemistry and engineering techniques.
This role requires handling laboratory instruments, preparing samples, and supporting scientists in various testing procedures while maintaining detailed records.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory testing procedures and experiments as directed by scientists and laboratory coordinator.
- Prepare contrived blood samples using spiking methodologies and tonometry.
- Communicate findings, progress, and issues to scientists and supervisor periodically.
- Detect and address issues in standard procedures due to instrument difficulties or sample handling.
- Use laboratory instruments properly, including sample preparation and solution formulation.
- Collect data, organize results, and prepare detailed reports; maintain accurate laboratory notebooks.
- Conduct an expanded range of laboratory experiments and procedures as experience is gained.
- Apply knowledge of experimental design and basic statistics to detect deviations or potential issues.
- Gather information from scientific literature, vendors, or other sources as needed; recommend improvements to routine analytical methods when applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in a scientific discipline, such as Chemistry or Biomedical Engineering.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in a laboratory setting.
- Proficiency in basic chemistry and engineering principles, theories, and concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with clinical chemistry analyzers and laboratory techniques.
- Ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical laboratory tasks.
