Job Title: Summer Engineering Intern

Location: Arnold AFB, TN (On-Site)

Canvas is seeking two Engineering Interns to support our work for the Arnold Engineering Development Complex at Arnold AFB, TN! This announcement may be used to fill multiple positions to provide assistance and advisory services to the DoD. AEDC operates roughly 70 aerodynamic and propulsion wind tunnels, rocket and turbine engine test cells, space environmental chambers, arc heaters, ballistic ranges, and other specialized units located in eight states. Many of the complex's test units have capabilities unmatched elsewhere in the United States; some are unique in the world. The positions being filled will support work at Arnold AFB within one or more technical areas, including aerodynamics, aeropropulsion, hypersonics, space, test systems support, and test analysis. Interns will support engineers and/or analysts in completing various aspects of testing support. The goal of the internship is to provide the selected candidates with a diverse experience which cannot be obtained anywhere else, and to find hard working engineers for future full time position openings.

Requirements:

• Must have completed two years of study in an accredited engineering program.
• Experience using Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Experience using Python and/or MATLAB programming languages.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Candidates that have completed thermodynamics, compressible flow, statics, particle dynamics, and programming coursework desired.
• Previous work experience or previous experience as an intern in a contractor environment desired.

Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Other Essential Job Functions:

May be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
