Senior Manager, SEC Reporting
Worksite Location: Onsite in Chandler, AZ - 4 days a week hybrid schedule
Job Summary:
The role reports directly to the Director of Technical Accounting and SEC reporting and works closely with Legal, IR, Global Controller s Organization, FP&A, and other functions within the Company to plan, coordinate, and prepare the Company s quarterly and annual financial statement filings. In addition, this role also supports the technical accounting matters including research and documentation related to current and emerging accounting issues and required SEC disclosures. This person will interact with the Company s auditors with respect to all disclosure matters. This person is required to understand the business objectives, key operation cycles, proactively create analysis and tools to identify issues, and provide recommendations for improvement and drive decisions and actions.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the periodic regulatory reporting (US GAAP)
- Manage quarterly and annual financial reporting and ensure statements in compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations
- Support research accounting for new, complex, or unusual transactions
- Ensure that internal control policies and procedures are followed
- Review changes in accounting standards and evaluate potential impacts to the organization
- Recognize where issues may occur and be proactive in planning to mitigate them
- Proactively address any new accounting standards that may impact business operations
- Instill a mindset of continuous process improvement consistent with accounting principles, corporate policies, and government regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
- Solid understanding of manufacturing and product costing
- A team player that is a highly motivated self-starter
- Ability to maintain a cooperative and professional work relationship with internal and external partners
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and external reporting software packages
- Strong leadership skills, able to demonstrate motivating and inspiring others
- Demonstrated team development and mentorship capability
- Ability to work effectively across multiple organizations
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent, is required
- Big 4 public accounting experience with a CPA or Chartered Accountant certification
- Must be current on both quarterly and annual SEC disclosure requirements, as well as current generally accepted accounting principles
- Demonstrated strength in technical aspects of accounting, from preparation of financial statements / footnote disclosures to analytical review
- 7+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles
- Advanced ERP knowledge
